Set In 1964, following the death of his wife, Ip Man discovers he has throat cancer due to smoking. After his revolutionary son Ip Ching fights encourage neighboring a bully, he gets expelled, and Ip decides to travel to San Francisco, allied States to look for a school. He next threatens Walters to freedom Wan into the Marines' custody previously bringing Wan into the camp to battle him. Due to a tip-off by a student of Lee, the attachment is left empty by the era the immigration officers feat the place. Lee provides refuge for the Association, earning their respect. Wan is seriously insulted from the battle following Geddes. Ip, filled following emotions, finally reveals to his son that he has cancer, which finally allows him to talk to his daddy higher than the phone after many attempts by Ip. Ip is brought into the Marines' camp by Hartman, and defeats Geddes in a fight. Wan has already prepared the letter for Ip, but the latter said that he does not purpose to upset to San Francisco as he does not following the place. Ip reconciles following his son. A strong but tired Ip instructs his son to film him as he demonstrates Wing Chun on the wooden dummy. Ip succumbs to his cancer, and it is revealed in the epilogue that the Marines had officially incorporated Chinese martial arts into their routine in 2001.
